Penetration Testing Services: Find the Weak Points Before an Attacker Does

RSecurity's penetration testers think and act like real attackers, under agreed rules, to show you which weaknesses can actually be used against your business and exactly what to fix first.

Why Penetration Testing Matters

Security tools and scanners can list hundreds of possible issues, but they cannot tell you which ones an attacker could chain together to reach your customer data, your finance systems or your email. A penetration test answers that question with evidence.

Instead of a long list of theoretical risks, you get a clear picture of how a real attack on your business would unfold, what it could reach and which fixes will make the biggest difference. That means your time and budget go to the problems that matter most.

Penetration Testing vs Vulnerability Scanning

A vulnerability scan is an automated check that compares your systems against a database of known weaknesses. It is fast and useful, but it produces false positives and cannot judge real-world impact.

A penetration test adds hands-on expert work. Our testers confirm which weaknesses can genuinely be exploited, combine them the way an attacker would, and show the business impact. Many organisations use regular scanning between penetration tests.

What Our Penetration Testing Covers

Every engagement is scoped to your business. These are the most common areas we test, on their own or combined.

Web Application Testing

Login and session handling, access control, input validation and business logic in your websites, portals and customer-facing applications.

API Testing

Authentication, authorisation and data exposure in the APIs that connect your apps, mobile clients and partners.

Network and Infrastructure Testing

External and internal networks, exposed services, misconfigurations and the paths an attacker could use to move between systems.

Cloud Environment Testing

Identity and access settings, storage permissions and configuration in your cloud accounts and hosted services.

Remote Access Testing

VPNs, remote desktop and remote-work tools that, if weak, give attackers a direct route into your network.

Social Engineering (Optional)

Controlled tests of how staff respond to phishing or pretext calls, included only when you add it to the agreed scope.

Black Box, Grey Box and White Box Testing

How much the testers know at the start shapes what the test tells you. We recommend the approach that fits your goal.

Black Box

Testers start with no inside knowledge, like an external attacker. Best for seeing what the outside world can find and exploit.

Grey Box

Testers receive limited access, such as a normal user account. Best for testing what a customer or compromised employee account could reach.

White Box

Testers receive full details of the system. Best for the most thorough review in the time available.

Our Penetration Testing Process

A clear, controlled process means no surprises for your team and results you can act on.

Scoping and Rules of Engagement

We agree what will be tested, the timing, the approach and any systems that need special care, so testing never disrupts your business unexpectedly.

Reconnaissance and Testing

Our testers map the target, look for weaknesses and attempt to exploit them safely, confirming real risk rather than reporting guesses.

Analysis and Reporting

Every finding is ranked by risk and business impact, with clear evidence and step-by-step remediation guidance.

Debrief and Remediation Support

We walk your management and technical teams through the results and answer questions while you fix the issues.

Retesting

Once fixes are in place, we retest to confirm that each issue is resolved.

What You Receive

A penetration test is only as useful as the report that comes out of it. Ours is written to be read and acted on.

  • An executive summary in plain language for management
  • A detailed technical report with evidence for every finding
  • Risk ratings that show what to fix first
  • Practical remediation steps for your IT or development team
  • A debrief session to review the results together
  • A retest to verify that fixes are working

Who Needs Penetration Testing?

Any business that holds customer data, runs online services or relies on its network to operate. Penetration testing is especially valuable before launching a new system, after major changes, when a client or partner asks for proof of security, and as part of a regular security schedule.

We work with organisations across many sectors, including:

Penetration Testing FAQ

What is a penetration test?

A penetration test is an authorised, controlled attempt to break into your systems, carried out by security specialists. It shows how an attacker could get in, what they could reach and how to stop them.

Will penetration testing disrupt our business?

Testing is planned with you in advance. The rules of engagement set what is allowed and when, and you tell us about any systems that are sensitive or must stay online.

How long does a penetration test take?

It depends on the scope. A single web application is quicker than a full network. We give you a timeline when we agree the scope.

How often should we run a penetration test?

Typically on a regular schedule and after any significant change, such as a new application, a major update or a change to your network. We will recommend a rhythm that fits your business.

Is our data safe during testing?

Testers work within the agreed rules, avoid unnecessary access to sensitive data and handle all findings confidentially.
